I love a good story...don't you?  One that inspires you, moves you, makes you angry or all mushy inside. Actually,  I don't care how it makes me feel as long as it's good. And if it's good, then I WILL feel something.  It's impossible not to.  

Not only do I love to experience a good story, I love to tell one.  It’s what I do.  Sometimes I use lots of lights, sound effects, smoke and performers hanging from various apparatuses (as you can see above), but sometimes all I need is the story and the story teller...and maybe a good spotlight.

THE STUFFY WUFFY VERSION

Kurt Stamm is a professional director/choreographer based in New York and Colorado.  He has been working as a theatre professional for over 30 years. 

Kurt has worked on and off Broadway, on touring productions and in regional theatres across the country.  He is the Founder and current Artistic Director of Mason Street Warehouse (MSW) and the Saugatuck Center for the Arts in Saugatuck, MI.  Kurt founded the organization in 2002 and has been the Artistic Director since its inception. Over the past 23 years, he has directed and choreographed more than 60+ shows at MSW.  He has won numerous awards for his direction and choreography including best musical for Mason Street’s 2018 Production of Once, The Musical, the 2019 production of In The Heights, the 2022 production of Legally Blonde, and both 2023 productions, Kinky Boots and Jersey Boys. He is in the process of planning MSW’s 2025 season which will include Come From Away and Waitress.

Kurt also directs shows for major corporations and non-profit companies across the country.  Some of his clients have included Lowe's, Broadway.com, ThyssenKrupp Steel, Rite-Aid, TruTV, Canon, Novartis, The Financial Brand, Fidelity Investments and The College Board. He has also directed numerous benefits, special events and awards shows. Kurt is also available for speaking engagements as well as executive speech/actor coaching. INTERVIEW WITH MEETING TOMORROW

During the pandemic, Kurt directing and producing online events and content for long time industrial client, College Board. Working with their team, he produced online Advanced Placement classes with guest lecturers Janet Yellin, John Quiñones, Valerie Jarrett, Tony Hale, Senator Cory Booker and Lin-Manuel Miranda (see photo below.) He also worked with other corporate clients coaching and preparing them for their upcoming virtual events.

Kurt is a member of SDC (Stage Directors and Choreographers Society) and AEA (Actors Equity Association), and the owner of JKS Productions, a professional production company.

When he's not working, Kurt has numerous interests. His favorites include hanging with his hubby Joe and their toy Australian Shepherd Brody, as well as traveling, running, biking, playing the piano, making his world famous Peanut Brittle (Byron’s Brittle available on Etsy) and sticking his hands in clay.
